The fickleness of our species is clearly reflected in our uniquely human ability to rationalize (literally) anything away. So I have to repeat something that dawned on me when Trump became our president seven years ago, that stupidity isn't only a function of native intelligence, since many who vote for Trump are likely to have high IQs. Yet what could be more stupid than voting against our own self interests such as in putting this self (as in "just him") serving autocrat back in power would do? In such a case, nobody wins but Trump, and perhaps Putin, while the rest of us lose. But too many are so captured by the sound of "Make America Great Again," they lose all sight of the reality facing us all, that this supposed "great" either includes all of us, or it's none of us. At any rate, Jeffrey, your comments are always welcome, as are your equally thoughtful highlights.
