Interesting. I'm not sure why but that didn't occur to me. And, damn, you may be right. When I was young and actively involved in contact sports, CTE still wasn't yet part of our known reality. I was a boxer, and 3 who appeared on the same venue as I, and even with whom I'd occasionally spar, are now dead from brain damage over time. That's something I, too, worried about as I approached retirement age. But so far nothing like that has befallen me, which I write off to plain dumb luck.
