FYI, I saw OJ play at USC, then later in the pros for Buffalo; then later as a film star. Like a recent movie title, OJ was everything, everywhere all at once. Ubiquitous, he defied simple description or categorization. Who was he? The answer back then was always, "He's OJ." Period.

The money franchise that was OJ came undone because he couldn't control his impulses. Could he ever? Well, not when it mattered.

As usual, your insights are spot on, Jeffrey, and I'll keep an eye out for your next piece.

Thanks for sharing your memories of OJ as an athlete and transcendent star. Given what we now know about the symptoms of CTE and how prevalent it is among football players, I can't help but wonder if it may have been a factor in his lack of impulse control in the back half of his life.
